The country's economic health is on the hot seat again. Speculation looms over when the Federal Reserve will raise the federal funds rate and how that might impact interest rates and other business related decisions. Many Americans who have been drinking from the punch bowl of favorable credit conditions are concerned the party is over. On Friday, October 9, Billy Carroll, SmartBank's President and CEO as well as a Director of The Federal Reserve Bank's Nashville Branch, will address these issues. Mr. Carroll also oversees economic development for the state of Tennessee. His presentation will include a walk-through of the Federal Reserve Bank's role in setting monetary policy and an update on the economy. He will discuss current trends, economic indicators, and key areas of importance around the current interest rate environment. With strong local and federal ties to the banking industry and monetary policies, Mr. Carroll can offer insights to help answer what's next for your business in this economy.
Meet Our Speaker: William (Billy) Y. Carroll, Jr.
Billy Carroll is the President and Chief Executive Officer of SmartBank and the President and Chief Executive Officer of SmartFinancial, Inc. Mr. Carroll, also a founding Director of SmartBank, has held the position since SmartBank’s inception. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1990. Following graduation, Mr. Carroll worked for Kraft CPAs in Nashville, TN. He joined Citizens National Bank in 1992 where he held various management positions, including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He also served on the CNB’s Board of Directors as well as the Loan Committee and Asset Liability Committee. Mr. Carroll is active in the community and served as past President of the Sevier County High School Foundation, member of the Sevierville Planning Commission, President of the Sevier County’s University of Tennessee Alumni chapter, and numerous other local organizations. Mr. Carroll currently serves on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank, Nashville Branch.
