Leverage: Using 21st Century Technology to Operate and Manage Your Business

What if you could manage tomorrow’s surprises today? In our ever changing business environment it is even more important to leverage the best practices for managing tomorrow’s risks with today’s insights.

This will be a story of business evolution which traces how the use of technology over the years has impacted business operations and decision making by management. Using technology to leverage business operations improves communications with customers, vendors and among intercompany personnel which results in higher productivity through higher levels of efficiency.  Finally, you will see a demonstration of the latest technology – a Financial Dashboard – that allows business owners or managers to visualize operations for real time decision making. The Experts:

Jeff LawhornAfter working in both corporate and public accounting, in 1979, Jeff Lawhorn, CPA, founded Lawhorn & Associates, which is now known as Lawhorn CPA Group, Inc - a second generation full-service accounting firm. His dream was to bridge the gap between big and small business. By automating accounting, Jeff knew he could provide the insightful strategy that is his expertise and has become the foundation for the firm's success. Among peers, he is widely known for leveraging his unique, creative methods to solve difficult accounting matters. Jeff is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Recently, Jeff passed the business reigns to his son, Jason, who was named President in 2011.

Jason LawhornBelieving marketplace longevity hinges on the ability to reinvent self, Jason Lawhorn, CPA.CITP.MAcc, embraces change and strives to soar into the cloud. Like his dad, Jason strives to make higher level accounting accessible to the small business owner. Although he now serves as President of the family firm, Jason was employed by his father’s accounting firm just out of high school. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Master of Accountancy with a focus in technology systems. Already, he has over seventeen years of public accounting experience with eight of those being in management.
