Lunch & Learn Series
The Subject:
Merchant Credit Card Processing: Perception vs. Reality (You will be surprised!)
As a business owner, you face a myriad of issues and opportunities on a daily basis. Minimizing risk, maximizing profit, and delivering good customer service are non-negotiables for any business. Are you harnessing your people and processes for the best possible outcomes?
Likewise, when it comes to your merchant credit card processes, the most important thing to keep in mind is for you to be controlling the credit card cost before the cost controls you. However, that is easier said than done. Not all credit cards are the same, and the cost of each card will affect each merchant differently depending upon what type of product or service your business sells. Learning the difference between perception versus reality could make all the difference.
In this seminar you will be surprised to learn:
- What effects do credit cards actually have on your business and what are the risks?
- Is cheaper always better? Think before you leap!
- How do I avoid the worst? Hear real life examples of situations that could put any business “out of business.”
Without risk there is no reward, but successful business owners know that minimal risk usually results in bigger (and better) rewards. On August 23, find out how to eliminate surprises and pocket the difference!
The Expert:
After a 20-year career in the golf industry since graduating from Tennessee Technological University, M. Scott Carmichael of Electronic Merchant Systems - Universal (EMS) embarked on the merchant services field (credit card processing) with enthusiasm, great skill, and exemplary customer service. Three years ago, Scott started agent training in Charleston, SC, and eventually moved to Knoxville, TN, in 2010. Currently, he owns and operates the Knoxville EMS Office, which services hundreds of customers and provides support in all areas from restaurants, motels, and various other businesses that serve greater Knoxville as well as other parts of the country.
Prior to entering the merchant services field, Scott honed his sales, customer service, and business acumen in the golf profession. He worked in various areas of running country club activities, club affairs, as well as being a sales representative for PING Golf Equipment from 2001 to 2007 in the state of South Carolina. Recalling his time in the golf business and the great friendships and memories that he will cherish for a lifetime, Scott said, “I can honestly say that whenever I was working with individuals or organizations there was never one day that I ever had to go to work, because it was all very fulfilling being around such a great sport.” Scott continues to enjoy golf every chance he gets.
